Botanic lights, Edinburgh

The Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh have lit up their champion poplar tree for the festive season, giving an imaginative twist on the usual Christmas trees. The display includes a mix of uplighting and sparkling lights and has been created by light artist Malcolm Innes. The tree will be lit from 1pm to 4pm every day until Sunday, 6 January. Standing at nearly 100 feet tall, it will definitely light up the dark winter afternoons in the garden.
