Trafalgar Square Christmas tree:

A must see is located in Trafalgar Square where you’ll find London’s biggest Christmas tree! The giant Norwegians spruce has been the annual gift to London from Norway since 1947 in recognition of Britain’s support during the Second World War. Seeing this world famous tree is a must do when you visit London! You can check for official events happening in Trafalgar Square at London.gov.uk/events

Outdoor ice rinks:

A trip to an outdoor ice rink is one of the most popular Christmas events in London. There’s plenty of opportunity for fun for the whole family on the ice in front of a scenic backdrop like the Natural History Museum, the Tower of London or Hyde Park.

The courtyard of Somerset house provides one of the most beautiful settings to ice skate in London. Ice skating sessions generally run between 10am and 10.15pm daily, with shorter opening times on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day etc. Somerset house is also open until 15th January 2017. You can find all the opening times, dates, book tickets and find more information directly from the Somerset House website.

Winter Wonderland, Hyde Park (18th November – 2nd January 2017):

Hyde Park is transformed for the Christmas season into a festive theme park where you can find the biggest outdoor ice rink of all. Entrance to Winter Wonderland is free, so everyone can stroll amongst the markets, bars and food stalls. Tickets are sold separately for the rides and attractions, notably a 60 metre high observation wheel, Zippos circus, and the unique ice sculpture experience. This year, Winter wonderland is celebrating it’s 10th birthday – so there are some extra special events such as The Nutcracker on ice.
