The Easter weekend is only around the corner now so why not make the most of it with an outdoor adventure? It’s the perfect time to take advantage of the longer days and improving weather. We hope you all have a well-deserved break and manage to get outside and explore our beautiful countryside.
We have complied a list of exciting things you and your family could enjoy this Easter break.
Exploring the National Trails:
The National Trails are long distance walking, cycling and horse riding routes through the best and most beautiful landscapes in England and Wales. In Scotland the equivalent trails are called Scotland’s Great Trails.
There are 15 National Trails in total currently. Walkers can enjoy them all, cyclists and horse riders can enjoy the Pennine Bridleway and the South Downs Way, as well as sections of the other trails.
In total, England and Wales have around 2,500 miles of National Trail (this will keep you busy over the Easter weekend/half term).
The England Coast Path will be the newest (and longest) National Trail when it is completed in 2020. The first section few sections are now open and more will be opening over the next few months…

Easter in London:
Easter Sunday lands on April 16th this year – but there are such exciting things happening from Good Friday through to Bank Holiday Monday.
The Easter weekend is a great time to be in London. There is always so much happening so there will be something for all the family. This Easter weekend there will be a host of parties, spring fairs and Easter egg hunts.
Pop Brixton Big Egg Hunt, Brixton, London
Easter Weekend is the perfect excuse for a proper party for the whole family. You can take part in the wildest Easter Egg hunt in South London, with magicians, street performers, face painters and craft activities for kids and parents alike.
As evening falls, Midnight Riot Records will take over with an after party where the grown-ups can make the most of a long weekend.
London Zoo – Story telling event
Over the Easter holidays/bank holiday weekend, London Zoo has lots of different events scheduled. From their birthday celebration story telling events, to live talk programs – there’s something to keep all the family informed and entertained.
This professionally guided tour of London really gives you a new appreciation and view of London. You’ll learn about the city, historic trivia and sharpen your local insight. You will also get the chance to see some of the iconic sights from Buckingham Palace to Trafalgar square. An extra bonus is you get to stop half way through for some fish and chips (or a pint)…

Taste Chocolate Festival, Bristol
Taste Chocolate Festival will have over 30 exhibitors showcasing their beautiful, hand crafted chocolates, cakes, churros, patisserie, wine, chocolate ale, liquors, hot chocolate and of course, not forgetting Easter eggs. This one is for real chocolate lovers!

B&Q Hanging Basket Workshops (nationwide)
Nothing says spring like flowers and B&Q is kindly allowing customers to get creative this Easter weekend by creating their own hanging baskets. The B&Q team will be running demonstrations and workshops in stores nationwide. Experts will also be on hand to show you how it’s done.
